while taking the day off from work to relax and catch up on... work, i managed to stumble across some really cool blogs and sites with kitschy finds. take this birthday cake mold, for instance, from the spoon sisters. if a friend or loved one made me a cake using this guy, i would be oh-so-delighted. food for thought (literally and figuratively).

the tongue-in-cheek offerings of design trio you and me, the royal we are also pretty fantastic. i really like these all occasions cards, and the description for the "these machines kill fascists" collection of pencils cracks me up, too:

"The pen is mightier than the sword, sure. So then a pencil is like way mightier than the sword, because it has an eraser, which means you can refine your mightierness. The other thing that makes these pencils so wicked mighty is that they each say "this machines kills fascists", which is kind of meta, what with the mightiness and all. Oh, and it’s a shout out to Woody."
